Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Review:

With over 400 locations nationwide, this DC based chain has burst onto the New York scene with its reasonable prices and quality menu.  The grill cooked burgers made of fresh, never frozen ground beef (no freezers are kept on the premises), are available in either regular (two patties) or little (one patty), and can be ordered plain, with cheese, with bacon, or with bacon and cheese.

One of the features that separates Five Guys from most any other burger restaurant is the wide range of toppings for no extra charge.  In fact, there are 15 toppings available, including mayo, relish, onions, lettuce, jalapeno peppers and grilled mushrooms to name a few.  Combined with seeded buns that are prepared at carefully selected partner bakeries, customers walk away with a good burger in a soggy brown paper bag.

Those who like pink and red should be warned, you won't be able to get a burger cooked less than well done.  Despite this, the Guys are still able to produce a relatively juicy burger.  Patrons should also be warned about the long lunch lines, which don't seem as too painful with the barrel of peanuts on tap.  Don't miss the french fries, which can be ordered plain or with cajun seasoning.
