If you're looking for a place that offers many different types of burgers, Rare is the place for you.  Rare's menu offers roughly 10 different types of burgers with about 20 different burger toppings.  For this review, we've focused on the Rare Classic.

According to the menu, all burgers at Rare are "100% Grade A American chuck beef, ground and freshly prepared daily".  The Rare Classic is 8 ounces and is severed on a homemade toasted bun with a pickle, lettuce, tomato and onion for $9.  Shoestring fries, sweet potato fries, cottage fries or onion rings can be added for $4 and parmesan truffle fries can be added for $5.

The biggest controversy for the group was how the burgers were cooked.  Although each burger is served with a toothpick type indicator that displays how the burger was ordered, some in the group felt their burgers were way off the mark.  The burger did have good flavor and was juicy, but for some that wasn't enough to make up for the burger not being cooked to order.

Rare ranks very low on the BOTM's list.  Aside from the issue about how the burgers were cooked, this reviewer feels that this might be related to the fact that this was the first burger we tried as a group.  I have a feeling that if we were to visit Rare today, it would do much better.  With that being said, although the burger ranks relatively low on our list, it is worth trying to see what you think for yourself.

Better than the ranking

Tried this a short while ago, and it blows away pretty much any burger I've ever had in a London restaurant. Of course I havent tried every single place thats above it in the rankings, but I'd be amazed if there were 40+ places better than this.. And if there are, well, you guys are truly spoiled for choice.
